Authentic Chakki Ki Subji- Rajasthani Recipe

  • 3 Cup flour
  • 2 Medium sized chopped onion
  • 1/4 Cup curd
  • 1 Tablespoon red chilli powder
  • 1 Tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 Tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1 Tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2 Tablespoon ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh coriander chopped
  • Additional ghee for Frying Chakki


Step 1

Take Wheat Flour in a Steel bowl and knead a loose dough from flour by adding water as needed. Keep it aside for 1/2 hour.

Step 2

Wash Dough by Place them in a sieve under running water and start stretching the dough with your hands until all the dough looks stretched. spread out the stretched dough on a Plate. Steam the Dough in a Steamer for around 8-10 min. Allow him to Cool. Cut the steamed dough and fry it in ghee to make the Chakki.

Step 3

Heat oil in a pan,add garam masala and cook for a few seconds. Add onion and garlic and cook for another minute. Add curd and dry masala to it the pan and mix.

Step 4

Heat ghee in a pan. Add Chopped garlic and onion and cook it till turns golden brown. Add curd and all masala. Mix well. Cook masala till the oil separates.

Step 5

Add one cup of wate and allow him to boil then add the fried chakki pieces to it.

Step 6

Garnish with Coriander.
