Date Swan – Chinese Dessert

  • 1/4 Cup of butter
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 6 Teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 Cup flour
  • 250 gms seedless dates
  • 2 Teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 Eggs


Step 1

In a large saucepan, bring butter, water, salt and sugar to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove pan from the heat and add the flour all at once. Stir quickly until all the flour is incorporated, about a minute. Return to the heat and cook, stirring constantly, for another two minutes

Step 2

Transfer the dough to the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat at medium speed for 1 minute to cool the dough down a little.

Step 3

Add Egg one at time and beat well. The Dought should be thick but should fall slowly and steadily from the beaters when you lift them out of the bowl.

Step 4

Using pastry bag fitted with 1/2" tip, pipe out 6 swan head and 12 wings. Bake 15 Minutes, then reduce heat and bake to another 25 minutes. allow him to cool.

Step 5

Chop seedless dates in a grinder. Then add sesame seeds and mix it well. now make body of swan from the mixture.

Step 6

Take swan head and wings , fix it to swan body.

Step 7

Serve as a Chinese dessert.
